Everybody on CT loves talking about buybacks and flywheels Yet, they fail to grasp that if your holder base is comprised of traders, buybacks are extremely inefficient. It is just as important to be able to control the supply side as it is to generate demand. In crypto the revolutionary supply control “tech”, is a “cult community” holder base. Supply + Demand are weighted equally. The real secret sauce with buybacks, is that if you have a “cult community”, buybacks become extremely galvanizing. A dex doing $10m of buybacks doesn’t affect how hard holders work for their bags and likely gets sold into anyway because holders are “traders”, while simultaneously revenue is dropping over time due to no moat/oversaturation. However, $10m into a cult community token, doesn’t get sold into, price goes up up and now holders are galvanized, shilling C2C company products 10x harder, thus increasing revenue by 10x, rinse and repeat, forever. The main narratives “this cycle” have been cult community (supply) and buybacks (demand). It’s a shame Crypto Twitter is only able to grasp each on an individual level. Imagine combining them. That’s a real Flywheel. All hypothetical, of course.
