In non-developed countries, full-time maids can range from $500 to $2k per month. This figure is way higher in developed countries. NEO costs $500 per month.
PRIVACY is obviously the biggest challenge.
Yes, the same challenge exists with human maids, but the maid herself is a form of human collateral, and there are natural physical limits on what she can do.
With a teleoperated robot, that human collateral disappears. A remote operator can sit anywhere in the world, fully anonymous, and still move around inside your home.
That creates a different psychological barrier: people may accept cameras, but a remote stranger controlling a humanoid in their living room is a much bigger leap.
